Tradition will be our future

Africa has a variety of medicinal plants present in water bodies, forests, bushes, mountains and herbal gardens.
Medicinal plants have been in use for a very long time. Information about use of herbs has been transferred orally by our grand-parents from generation to generation.
The use of herbs in health care is guided by cultural knowledge from different parts of Uganda and the world at large. Culture involves human behavior that includes the language used in communities, the way they think and communicate to each other, their activities, what they believe and value.
Cultural knowledge is also useful in maintaining plants, harvesting, post harvest handling, processing, preservation, storage ,diagnosis, prevention, treatment and management of diseases.
